For the Surfers

We are host to one of the world’s best waves, Occy’s left. To maintain a globally unparalleled surfing experience, we limit the wave to twelve (12) registered surfers per day, so please ensure you get your bookings in to avoid disappointment (max 1 per room subject to availability).

From May to the end of September expect moderate to high surf. It is consistently in the 4-6+ foot range, with days where it can get into the 6-9+ foot range. It is during this time of year that it is possible to see the largest surf, with waves at Nihiwatu beach reaching a maximum of 12 feet. It is the peak season for surfing, with regard to both consistency and size. The trade winds can pick up in the afternoons, so mornings are usually the best time to surf. May and September typically have the calmest/most favorable winds, and July and August have the largest surf.
