Tucked into the heart of the resort and perched above Nihiwatu Beach with endless ocean views, Wulla Marapu embodies both serenity and spirituality. In Sumbanese culture, “Wulla” means moon, while “Marapu” refers to the ancestral belief system that forms the foundation of life. For the Sumbanese, the moon is not only a light in the night sky, but also a sacred guide for rituals, direction, and meaning. This name was chosen so that Villa Wulla Marapu may reflect the luminous tranquility of moonlight and the spiritual essence of Sumba itself.

Spanning two thoughtfully designed floors, this 2.5-bedroom retreat is an ideal haven for families or small groups of friends seeking connection and comfort. The lower level features an open-air living and dining space, where gentle ocean breezes and warm Sumbanese evenings create a perfect setting for intimate gatherings, complemented by a charming kids’ room for family ease. A private plunge pool adds a touch of indulgence, perfect for refreshing dips while soaking in the panoramic vistas. Upstairs, two luxurious bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms offer serene sanctuaries for rest. Every level boasts uninterrupted views of the 2.5 km white sand Nihiwatu Beach, the Indian Ocean, and breathtaking sunsets that paint the sky 365 days a year.
