Several surf spots lie within 30–60 minutes of the resort and can be accessed by car or boat. While Nihiwatu Beach is famed for hosting one of the island’s most celebrated waves, Occy’s Left, we understand the allure of hunting new swells and empty line-ups along Sumba’s wild coastline.

Wherever the swell leads, our experienced team will guide you to the break best suited to your ability, ensuring a day of exploration, progression, and unforgettable waves.

When the swell in front of NIHI Sumba grows larger and more challenging, Rua offers a more approachable alternative. Set within a sheltered bay, this mellow break features both right and left-hand waves, making it ideal for intermediate or progressing surfers looking to find their rhythm.
