Adventure, Creativity, and Friendship for Young Guests.

Childhood should be wild, wondrous, and magical, just like the island itself.

That’s the spirit behind the NIHI Wildlings Kids Club, a full-day immersive program for children aged 4 to 12, designed to spark imagination, nurture curiosity, and let kids simply be Wildings.

Every day is thoughtfully led by experienced guides and educators who blend safety, spontaneity, and storytelling through a range of fun activities. While the Wildlings are discovering new passions and building friendships, parents are free to indulge in their own moments of peace.

The NIHI Wildlings Kids Club runs daily from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, starting at Chris & Charly’s Chocolate Factory.

Pre-arranged early breakfast supervision is available for parents heading out on morning adventures. If guests wish to drop children off earlier, a 24-hour pre-booking is required. Children under 4 years old are welcome to join when accompanied by a parent or dedicated nanny.

Wildlings Schedule

Discover the magic of Sumba’s coastline through a day of beach adventures and marine discovery. Children will enjoy beachcombing, sandcastle building, and a visit to the Boathouse, where NIHI’s Boathouse team will introduce them to the fascinating world of marine life, tides, and ocean conservation. The adventure continues at the stables, where they’ll learn how to care for NIHI’s friendly ponies before finishing the day with a fun turtle-themed workshop inspired by the island’s incredible sea life.

Where nature meets creativity. Young explorers will search for fascinating insects, learn about local wildlife, and craft nature-inspired art before becoming Wildling Chefs in a hands-on pizza-making class, baking their own delicious pizzas from fresh ingredients. The afternoon continues with NIHI’s signature chocolate-making experience, followed by bracelet making.

Wildlings immerse themselves in the rich traditions of Sumba through storytelling, traditional clothing, cultural activities, and dance. They will learn about local customs, take part in a lively cultural parade, and finish the day creating tropical coconut smoothies and colourful artwork. As the day comes to a close, Wildlings are invited to dress in traditional Sumbanese attire and join the Sumba Foundation Dinner, celebrating the island’s vibrant culture alongside fellow guests.

A hands-on day full of creativity and discovery. Wildlings will sculpt with natural clay while learning traditional Sumbanese stories before joining our chefs for an interactive Indonesian cooking class. Using fresh local ingredients, they’ll create a traditional Indonesian favourite while discovering the rich flavours and culinary traditions of Sumba. The day concludes with mud play at the Boathouse, where imagination and outdoor adventure come together.

Celebrate Sumba’s iconic equestrian heritage as Wildlings meet NIHI’s Sandalwood ponies, learn how to care for them, and express their creativity in the art studio. The adventure continues with a guided jungle walk, wildlife spotting, and a visit to the Food Forest, where children will discover edible plants, learn about nature conservation, and experience the incredible biodiversity of Sumba.

Get ready for a day of mystery and excitement. Children will follow clues around the Chocolate Factory on an exciting treasure hunt before heading to the Boathouse to become Wildling Mixologists, creating and enjoying their own refreshing homemade lemonade. The afternoon continues with NIHI’s signature chocolate-making experience and creative bracelet making, leaving the little ones with sweet memories to take home.

A day filled with creativity, movement, and fun. Children begin the day with a fun kids’ yoga session before heading to the stables for one of NIHI’s most unique experiences, painting the resort’s friendly ponies. The day ends with cupcake decorating and traditional palm leaf crafts, encouraging creativity while celebrating Sumba’s natural beauty.

Today, we bid a heartfelt farewell to one of our original Sumba sea horses, Hanna.

Hanna was our very first healing horse, the one who showed us the way. She spent her days at Nihioka Spa Safari, living peacefully beneath the palm trees and grazing on the hillside.

Through her gentle nature and intuitive energy, she brought comfort, connection and healing to so many. She touched the lives of everyone who had the joy of meeting her. Today, her herd honoured her in the water with a final farewell.

Her spirit will forever run free along the shores of Nihiwatu Beach. Thank you, Hanna, for the healing, love and cherished memories. You will always be a treasured part of the NIHI herd.
