One of the island’s most rewarding hikes, this journey leads from NIHI Sumba to our secluded NIHI Spa at Nihioka.

Depart through the resort gates and follow your guide through landscapes that unfold into different terrains of jungle, valley, and coastline. This 90 minute hike teaches you about the region’s diverse wildlife and introduces you to the traditions of the local communities, including a visit to a traditional Sumbanese village.

Upon arrival to NIHI Spa at Nihioka, you’ll be welcomed with chilled towels and a fresh young coconut before settling down to a rustic open-fire breakfast, served in a shaded treehouse platform perched high above a pristine cove. Have a relaxing breakfast with only nature as your company before leisurely enjoying the time in this serene location.

Overview

Depart through the resort gates, and start your trek through a palm tree forest as you embark on our award-winning Spa Safari™. Your guide will talk you through the vast and changing landscape, and varied local wildlife and traditional communities, before stopping in a traditional Sumbanese village.

Next, you will descend to Nihioka Valley. Splash through freshwater streams and hike over cascading rice paddy fields, all leading to epic panoramic views of the Indian Ocean with surprises along the way.

Be greeted with cold towels and a refreshing coconut, before sitting down to an open flame breakfast all served on a shaded treehouse platform, high above the coast’s crashing waves. After breakfast, stroll along our magnificent beaches and relax at your leisure.
