About NIHI Rote

Born on the Edge of Indonesia.

Rote Island lies on the most southern edge of Indonesia and along the white sands of Bo’a Beach sits NIHI Rote, a sanctuary shaped by sea, land, and the quiet beauty of island life.

Home to just 21 luxury villas, the resort opened in 2026 under the vision of owner Michael Schwab, whose passion for adventure, ocean culture, and community-driven hospitality helped shape NIHI Rote. Designed to feel intimate and unhurried, NIHI Rote introduces the world to an island still largely untouched, where days unfold naturally.

Mornings often begin in the water, paddling out to the renowned Bo’a Barrel, one of the most celebrated waves in the region. When the tide turns, guests may dive among vibrant coral reefs, paddle through mangrove forests, or cycle past palm groves and village life that has changed little over generations.

Welcome to NIHI Rote.

The greatest beauty of Rote is its people. This is Uni, one of our NIHI Rote Hospitality Academy graduates, proudly wearing her traditional attire as she shares the island’s culture, heritage, and traditions with guests from around the world. Every woven thread tells a story, and every smile is a warm invitation to discover the heart of Rote.
Welcome to NIHI Rote. Where turquoise water steals the show, island culture runs deep, and every corner feels like a postcard. The hardest part? Deciding whether to dive in or simply soak it all up.
Sunset yoga. Salt air. The sound of the ocean. Sometimes the best therapy is simply slowing down long enough to take it all in.
Our version of therapy? A sunset dip in the Indian Ocean, warm saltwater, and the luxury of having nowhere else to be. 🤍.#nihigram @harriet.adams @tconcept.paulabaldomir
POV: You’re a bird flying over paradise.
Press pause, head to the Edge of Indonesia, and let @nihirote take it from there. Slow mornings, salty swims, long lunches, and sunsets worth staying for. The only thing on today’s itinerary? Absolutely nothing.
