At NIHI Sumba, we have hosted remarkable weddings, bringing together adventure, romance, and unforgettable moments for couples and their guests. Our team can arrange everything from the most intimate ceremony to a full resort buyout. We have even helped create spontaneous celebrations when love called for it.
Weddings in Sumba are deeply rooted in culture. Whether you choose to marry along our sweeping beach or atop a clifftop overlooking the ocean, each ceremony can be enriched with the vibrant traditions of the island.
Village priests may lead the blessing, incorporating symbolic rituals such as chewing betel nut to seal the union. Traditional Sumbanese garments, ceremonial horse or water buffalo processions, fire dancers, and other cultural elements can be included to create an authentic and unforgettable celebration.
NIHI Sumba can accommodate up to 70 adults across 36 rooms. Please inquire about shared villas, group arrangements, and options for families traveling with children.

Young riders from the nearby traditional villages pit their skills against one another by racing along the pristine white sand. A friendly and competitive race that guests can watch and cheer for. Proceeds go to the @sumbafoundation to help fund equipment the kids from the nearby villages may need for schooling.
