After the hike, a short drive brings you to Sumba’s “Rice Island,” an elevated jungle islet surrounded by lush rice fields, where you’ll have a scenic picnic.

Driven by car to the top of the rural highlands, you will visit the scenic village of Pakat.

From here, take a stroll down to the riverbank to start your hike, while taking in the rich and varied views of the coast and farmland along the way.

Following your three-mile village and landscape trek and a short transfer by car, find time to explore the Sumba ‘Rice Island’.
