At NIHI Sumba, the Spa Safari is a signature journey designed to awaken the senses and immerse you in Sumba’s untamed beauty at NIHI Spa. It’s where you’ll have a combination of indulgent treatments chosen by you from the spa menu to have in a serene sanctuary perched on emerald cliffs overlooking the Indian Ocean.

Your experience begins with a choice of arrival: an invigorating 120-minute coastal trek, a 90-minute horseback ride or cycle, or a 15-minute drive in an open-air safari vehicle across Sumba’s dramatic western coastline to the secluded Nihioka Valley. Rolling hills and traditional villages set the scene for what lies ahead.

Upon arrival, you are welcomed with a refreshing cool towel and a fresh young coconut plucked from our own palm trees. Then a nourishing breakfast awaits served at Nihioka’s treehouse platform. Take in panoramic ocean views suspended above a private cove.

When you’re ready, you’re guided to a private bale where your dedicated therapists tailor your chosen treatments to your preferences. Choose from full-body massages, cooling wraps, organic facials, body scrubs, and foot reflexology using natural, locally sourced ingredients. You can even include a therapeutic horse massage as part of your Spa Safari from our Equine Wellness offerings.

The hardest choice you’ll have to make all day is how long you want the indulgence to last. Choose between a half-day or a full day Spa Safari experience and enjoy as much time as you want at NIHI Spa, unwinding by the freshwater infinity pool, exploring Nihioka’s wild beaches, or relaxing beneath the palms.

Easter festivities spanned the entire weekend, with moments of celebration for guests of all ages. Children gathered for egg painting, arts and crafts, face painting, and set off with baskets in hand for the Easter egg hunt.

A special performance by the choir from English Goes to Kampung filled the afternoon with music, while families came together to enjoy festive Easter dining.
