An Exclusive Five-Day Retreat

Following the extraordinary success of her 2026 retreat, world-renowned healer and intuitive guide Candice Webster returns to NIHI Sumba in June 2027.

This intimate five-day journey brings together equine-guided healing, unforgettable rides, sessions with NIHI’s Horse Whisperers and signature experiences at the Edge of Wildness. Bookings are now open.

*Before booking, guests will be invited to a brief private conversation to ensure a natural affinity with the horses and a harmonious group experience.

The retreat will unfold across two intimate five-day journeys, with guests invited to join either 1-6 June 2027 or 8-13 June 2027.

Retreat Rate: USD 10,000 per person including all taxes
Group Size: Limited to 5–6 guests per retreat

The Retreat fee includes all scheduled sessions, ceremonies and guided experiences with Candice and NIHI’s Equine and Wellness teams. The retreat rate does not include accommodation.

Accommodation is priced separately and starts from USD 1,979 per night for two guests, including all meals, return airport transfers and NIHI’s generous stay inclusions.

Overview

Candice’s 2026 retreat brought five days of deep connection, discovery and joy. Guests shared powerful moments with the horses, personal breakthroughs, memorable rides and time immersed in Sumba’s wild landscape.

The experience brought together healing, nature, movement and adventure, all shaped by the presence of NIHI’s Sandalwood Horses.

In 2027, Candice returns to deepen this extraordinary journey.

At the heart of the retreat is a private equine-guided session with Candice.

Blending metaphysics with the intuitive presence of horses, the experience helps reveal emotions or patterns that are ready to shift. Each guest receives one dedicated private session, carefully attuned to the individual and with the potential to be truly transformative.

Its impact continues to unfold throughout the retreat, supported by time with the horses, NIHI’s team and the natural energy of Sumba.

Candice’s work aligns naturally with NIHI and the spirit of Sumba. The island’s Marapu tradition honours balance between people, nature and the spirit world, with horses holding a sacred place in Sumbanese life. The Sandalwood Stables, established more than a decade ago, have long provided a space for connection, learning and healing. Here, at the Edge of Wildness, Candice’s practice and NIHI’s equine philosophy come together.

Preserving the soul of Sumba through the protection of its Sandalwood horses and heritage.

On the island of Sumba, the Sandalwood horse is far more than livestock — it is woven into marriage traditions, funeral rites, and the annual Pasola festival. Yet this living heritage faces growing challenges from financial hardship, limited veterinary access, malnutrition, and fading traditional horsemanship, putting horses and other animals at risk.

The Sumba Horse Project exists to change that. Working alongside local vets, we provide anti-parasite treatment, wound and dental care, emergency aid, and nutritional support, while our charity also helps animals across Sumba. Every treatment, rescue, and lesson brings us closer to a fully equipped Sumba Animal Hospital.
